"I’ve always loved the Albany skyline and this is probably one of the coolest pictures of it I’ve ever seen! Don’t you agree?

John Bulmer took a series of multiple sunsets and created this incredible photo. As someone who loves old photgraphs of historic Albany or even current ones like what Bulmer has done, I try and find as many interesting Albany Instagram accounts as I can. I’m partial to “Albanyarchives” and “Albanydoesntsuck” for their appreciation of this great city of ours, rich with history and cool architecture.

2017 International Cloud Atals

March 23, 2017 is World Meteorological Day.

About a year ago, a representative from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) contacted me about including a video I captured of a snow devil in Halfmoon, New York in the 2017 version of the International Cloud Atlas. The newest edition went live today.

The International Cloud Atlas was first published in 1896 and there have been eight versions since its first publication. The 2017 version is the first edition to be completely online and include multimedia. I am honored to be part of such a long standing scientific publication.

Every year on New Years Day, I try to go urban exploring.

This year I explored an abandoned warehouse space and its adjacent offices. I am fascinated by the abandoned spaces that once made up a large part of the lives of so many. This warehouse was the home of light manufacturing for more than 80 years. Today, the rooms sit silent. We are all just renting.

From Edible Capital District's Favorite Photos of 2016 Collection: "Every photo shoot is different, but they all have interesting details that tell the story just as effectively as the main images. This portrait was captured during an afternoon shoot at the home of Kelly and Garry Brown for a feature on their beef stew. Their two dogs were excited and curious and most likely hungry from the smell of the stew cooking on the stove. They expectantly sat under the table waiting, listening, and hoping for some of the delicious food. As a photographer tasked with capturing the concept of a cozy and comfortable home at the holidays, happy dogs under a beautifully prepared meal is a detail I couldn’t pass up."
