"There are also some gorgeous photos on the wall from John Bulmer, one in particular caught my eye, a rocking chair with wine barrels felt incredibly real and made me want to climb into the picture and enjoy the view with a glass of wine."

Each Reclaimed Cities image takes an average of 8,000 mouse and stylus inputs. This is a time lapse of the process of turning one of my favorite views on Albany into a flooded and rainy digital illustration.
When I started this project, my intention was to gain a better understanding of how to create compelling black and white images. The process taught me so much more. As photographers, we are not always presented with a beautiful sunset or sweeping landscape. Most of the time, we are capturing the rhythm of everyday life. The real work comes from redefining the mundane in an interesting way. All images in this collection were captured with an iPhone.
