The New Vintage

I didn't take these photos. A friend, a local musician (and damned good one), saw this scene at a garage sale and asked the woman selling the chairs to take a few photos of him playing his guitar. Sometimes found scenes have way more validity than something planned, lit, and staged. And while I didn't create the images, I applied the sepia tone and weathered effects to add more authenticity to the finished product. All effects were applied with iOS iPad apps.

Great shoot on Sunday. Deserted rooftop deck of a parking garage. Surrounded by 18th century roof lines and spires. From up high, the city seemed deserted. The atmospherics were dead on too. Sunny, but not direct light. Just enough to saturate the colors and fill out details.
