Storm Surge at Cohoes Falls, Images 1-3
Antiquity Project
This is Cohoes Falls at peak storm surge. Shot on hundred-year-old equipment using a long exposure. These images are part of the Antiquity Project, photographing Capital Region landscapes the way Timothy O’Sullivan photographed the West after the Civil War. O’Sullivan learned his craft shooting the war on wet plates, then hauled a darkroom by mule across the western surveys to photograph country no camera had reached.
